Mixed feeling in a relationship

When your emotions are all over the place in your relationship you MUST pay attention. Should I stay or should I go is a question that does need an answer. Take some time alone to listen to your inner chatter and you will find the answers. Journal if it helps! Need to talk?

Are past relationships haunting you?

This is a common theme for most people. Does your past relationships affect your current?

You can leave your past relationships behind but they teach you so many lessons that you shouldn’t forget. When you first meet someone new we tend to discuss our past relationships. Sometimes there is common ground and experiences but sometimes we share a little too much and it can come back to bit you. Think before you reveal something that can and sometimes will be used against you in a future argument.

Sharing is important but sometimes too much information is too much.

Romance and Private Jets

I have to say that I am a hopeless romantic and every once in a while something leads me to fantasize about the endless opportunities for romance. How amazing would it be to have your boyfriend, girlfriend, or significant other invite you on a luxurious private jet and has you fly around the world and tour exotic places?

If you dream big and have the financial resources, consider flying in a private jet and being treated like a king or queen. With today’s high-end jet charter companies this is possible. If you want something truly unique, treating the person your in love with to something special is priceless. Giving them a surprise like this is so worth the value.

Romance aside; think about all the different occasions that a private jet can be used for whether it is business, family or just plain fun. A girl can dream but why not turn the dream into reality?

Singles Support group in MA

Due to an overwhelming response to singles frustrations with dating I’m going to form a support group in the Boston area. I think men and women can learn so much about dating and relationships from each other. Most men and women think that each sex has difference problems when it comes to dating. But, I can tell you from all the emails I am receiving that we have some of the same issues.

Issues like:
Internet Dating
Getting to a second date
Ex boy or girlfriends still in the picture
Partners living in the past and how it affects new relationships
Single and loving it
Second time around
Sex and the internet

No relationship is perfect

All relationships have their ups and downs. As the years go by you always need to work on your relationships. No one ever said it would be easy but if you can just flow with it your relationships have a better chance of going the distance. I’m not just referring to love relationships but all of your relationships. Some of us change while others don’t. We can not always be on the same page at the same time.

As we age our likes and dislikes seem to increase little by little. Sometimes we just drift apart without even a word. I can remember when my best friend of 16 years just stopped communicating with me. I made every effort to try and find out what happened but was not successful. Then 10 years later I found out her sister was murdered in Mexico and there was no way I could not send a note or attend the service. I was so nervous to see her but knew this was the right thing. When she was leaving the church our eyes met and and I knew I did the right thing. When she walked into the reception we just hugged and cried together. Nothing needed to be said. We have been best friends since this day and we are both so happy to have each other back in our lives.

When it comes to love relationships you need to always do the work to keep it fresh. It is like a garden that needs to be cared for. You know those couples who seem perfect well it isn’t always the case. I can remember as a child everyone thought my parents were the greatest. But, of course they weren’t around to see the truth. I learned very important lessons growing up in a disfunctional house. But, I was determined not to be like my parents. I can say that when I see my behavior that mirrors my mother I just get so pissed off at myself.

Oh course my parents did the best they could. As I got older I started to understand that they had their own demons and struggles and it must have been very hard. But, what they didn’t do was work on their relationship to make it grow. My dad died of cancer about 15 years ago so I don’t know what would have happened to their marriage. If I knew then what I know now I would have worked alot harder to have a better relationship with my dad.

In the end none of us are perfect and we can not expect perfection from anyone. We need to love and accept each other for who we are. There are some of us that continue to work on our own personal development and grow while others do nothing to improve their lives. This either works for you or it doesn’t. Just be the best you can and stay true to your dreams.

Maintain your friendships even when your in a relationship

It’s so important to maintain your friendships when your in a relationship. Friends help to keep you grounded and are always there for you to count on. I’m sure we all have friends who once they meet someone but everyone else on the back burner. Then once the relationship ends they come back into your life.

My friends are like my family and my time spent with them I treasure. I have never been the type to make a boyfriend my whole world. Although, it has been done to me and at times it has really hurt my feelings. I want whomever I’m dating to meet my friends and also hang out with them. I believe the 2 can merge and be a lot of fun.

So if your the type to give up all your friendships for a man or women you need to adjust your thinking. Each friendship has it’s own unique purpose and should be considered special. You have friends who you can laugh, cry or discuss the meaning of life with. So spend time with your closest and your partner should do the same. We all need girl or guy time.

PMS and Relationships

Emotions play such a big role in relationships. When women are premenstrual sometimes are emotions get all out of sorts. Most men don’t have a clue what it’s like for us when our hormones go crazy.

Honestly, I don’t think women who are having PMS should make any kind of a decision if you’re on an emotional rollercoaster. I say zip it before you say something you are going to regret. Since I’m so in tune with my emotions I follow this rule. There are times when I’m so sensitive that I take comments the wrong way. So I’ll pick up the phone and call one of my friends.

We each have our own way of calming ourselves down. Some women mediate or workout. Find whatever works for you and quiet your mind.

Respect in relationships

In order for a relationship to stay strong and grow you must have mutual respect for each other. No two people are alike although you can have much in common. We need to respect the differences. An example is if you and your partner disagree on a specific topic. Just be open to their thoughts and feelings.

You can debate topics or problems but we are each allowed our own opinions. There is no reason to get all stressed out because they don’t see things the way you do. Of course this does not apply on big issues that will affect your relationship. I’m just talking about basic differences.

I personally like having a difference view than my partner’s. We come from two totally different background and have different experiences. We both learn from each other and are open to listening to each other’s opinion. I never wanted to be my male twin because I would be very bored.

So respect each other and stay open!

Pursue your dreams!

All our dreams can come true- if we have the courage to pursue them. -Walt Disney

I love this quote because it is so true. We have to take a leap of faith and go after our dreams. For all those single people out there that do not take a proactive role in trying to meet someone this quote is for you. No one is going to show up at your door and you ride off into the sunset.

I know too many men and women who are so tired of being alone and all they do is complain about it. How does this help you? It only makes you more depressed and lonely so get up off the sofa and make your dreams come true.

Don’t be afraid to express your feelings

Never be afraid to speak from the heart. The more you are able to share your thoughts and feelings the more open your heart will be. I am a firm believer of telling the people in my life how important they are to me. This even goes for when someone has done or said something that hurt my feelings.

My dad died about 15 years ago and from that moment on I realized how important it is to tell people you love them. It wasn’t until 5 years before my dad passed away that he said I love you to me. I knew he loved me but hearing it is a totally different thing. I grow up in a house were you weren’t allowed to express your thoughts or feelings. Allowed sounds like a strong word but really if I ever disagreed with my dad it wasn’t a pleasant situation. I learned to just stuff my feelings inside .

Never be afraid of the outcome of speaking your mind. If your in a relationship and things aren’t going that great talk about it. If for any reason you disagree and your relationships ends it’s not a bad thing. It just means it was going to happened sooner or later. An example is if you partner won’t make a commitment to take your relationship to the next level and you end up breaking up. It’s better to know now. On the other hand you could have a positive outcome due to you bring up the subject.
