Relationships & The Blame Game

When there is conflict in a relationship it can be very upsetting. You have to ask yourself what is the reality of the situation. The blame can not be placed on just one of you.  What you need to do is try and see both sides.  Think of it as watching a movie and really seeing the characters.  This takes practice because most of the time we get all in our head and can’t see what is really going on. This used to be me but now I take a step back and see the reality of the situation.  You need to really listen and understand your partners view.

Communication Woes

We all have our own style of communication. I for one never used to be able to communicate my true feelings out of fear of rejection. But, I found through a lot of hard inner work that I needed to face my own demons. Now I find it easy to speak my truth and allow others to have their own views. I always thought you needed to view things the same in order to keep the peace. This is just not so.  What you do need is common goals to make communication work.  Seeing somone elses views can be enlightening.  Try and stay open to others opinion and remember that there are always two sides.

It takes work to be happy!

If your not happy and want life to be different it will take work.  Doing nothing about your unhappiness is like spinning your wheels and staying stuck.  If your looking for love but never do anything about it guess what will happen.  It’s like waiting for Publisher’s Clearing house to come knocking on your door and give you tons of money.  Chances are it’s not going to happen.  So I challenge you to explore coaching and take the first step to improving your life and creating a new beginning.

Dating Frustrations

There are so many single people frustrated when it comes to their dating situation.  I wish I had a magic bullet to come up with one solution that would work for everyone to improve their love life. A year ago I was looking for the magic bullet myself.  The bottom line is you have to be in it to win it.  You need to stay open to new ideas of ways to meet new people. If the internet dating isn’t working for you let your friends and co-workers know that your willing to be fixed up if they know of someone.  Or, how about joining a sports group such as a skiing or volleyball club.  Find what interests you and research what organizations are out there to join.  In the next coming weeks I will post more ideas for finding your soul mate.  The bottom line is there is work and energy on your part to make this happen.

Dating Goals for 2007

Instead of making New Years resolutions this year how about setting goals? Resolutions are easily broken and forgotten.  I want to challenge the single people to start taking steps to improve their dating life.  If finding a soul mate is high on your list start taking steps to better your chances.  Don’t just say you’re going to join an internet dating site actually do it.  When I say do it I mean sign up and start taking action.  Too many people sign up and never complete their profile or respond to emails.  As the Nike slogan goes “JUST DO IT”!
